Introduction
Resume Generator is an automation tool that lets you generate multiple PDF resumes at once using Microsoft Excel and Word. It streamlines the process of creating tailored resumes for different job applications, roles, or variants. A simple template can be created in Word with placeholders for where data should be placed, and the Excel has multiple tabs for adding information similar to a database.
Motivation
When applying for jobs, customizing your resume for each position can be tedious and time-consuming. I wanted a way to quickly generate multiple resume variants such as Data Analyst, Software Engineer, etc., each with its own set of jobs, bullet points, and projects, without manually editing the format of each document.
Usage
This does still require writing multiple descriptions and rewording projects for each application, but it's extremely easy to manage and more importantly free. Once everything is written out, one click of a button will generate both a .docx and .pdf file for every variant in one timestamped folder location.
