Introduction
Audifile is a desktop application used to organize, view, and play audio files from a person's computer - think of it as a supercharged file explorer and music player. Users can link folders directly from their drives and view information for all audio files in the folder such as waveforms and file metadata. Each folder also acts as a "playlist", allowing for playing, skipping, and looping music like a typical audio player.
The Motivation
The project idea stemmed from my passion in music production. Over the past few years, I have ammased thousands of music / DAW (digital audio workstation) files and found it extremely annoying to view them in the Windows File Explorer. Searching for specific files took too long, I couldn't easily filter for specific / multiple file types or genres, and if I wanted to listen to a song, I had to wait for an audio player to open and play it. Not to mention, there was no way to see how a song would play out without playing it since there was no visible waveform. Audifile was made to fix all of my frustrations - and maybe yours too :).
